Yes, I’m a tech junkie and I rely on my phone for everything. Surprisingly, it has helped make my life a little easier as a mom. From staying organized to grocery shopping, I’ve found an app to help do almost everything. I want to share a few of my favorite apps that I use on a regular basis:  Shipt Everyone hates grocery shopping, especially when you have to drag the kids along. Shipt is one of the few grocery delivery apps that lets you shop from the comfort of your home

The older I get, the more complicated New Year’s Eve plans become. I’m over the club scene for sure but still want to be surrounded by good vibes, drinks, and music of course. I decided to keep it real simple and have a small gathering at my house this year. However, if you are in the DMV and still don’t have plans, I have a few dope options you just might want to consider. I started 2018 with many resolutions that I wanted to have accomplished around this time of year but unfortunately, that just didn’t happen. 2018 started good but after my boyfriend got into a horrific accident, my momentum towards my personal goals and business shifted. My lifestyle changed from a two-parent household to one and so did the income. Everything happened so fast, that I wasn’t able to process

Hello Modish Mommies! Today I want to talk about anxiety. Specifically, I would like to briefly explore what it is, how it impacts each of us, and ways to manage it on a day to day basis. The American Psychological Association defines anxiety as “an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure. People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry. They may also have physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, dizziness

Last Christmas, I went all out for Saia-especially when it came to toys. Over time I realized that out of all the toys I bought she only played with 3 or 4 consistently and I wasted my money.  Majority of the toys ended up in the basement until recently, when her cousin came over for a playdate. I created a play space for them to have fun and live their best toddler life. Since that day, Saia has been into all the toys and using her imagination to the fullest.

And just like that, it’s the holiday season Modish Mommies! When this time of the year comes around it’s so easy to overlook the true meaning of the holiday, which is to BE THANKFUL! Sometimes, I catch myself going through the motions of life and I have to check myself and remember how truly blessed I am. One day I caught myself complaining about how my daughter talks a lot, but then I had to stop myself because there is a mother out there wishing she could get her child

Saia’s dad and I always tried to implement healthy eating habits in our home but we could never stick to it. Before I had Saia, I just knew my child would eat organic everything and never eat fast food (except for Chick-Fil-A lol) but some days McDonald’s ended up being our only option. Recently, I noticed that she was constantly asking me to eat McDonald’s even on days when I cooked a home cooked meal. I began to feel guilty as a parent because I never wanted my child to

As a busy mom, it can be difficult to get the quality of sleep that is necessary for you to maintain your overall physical, emotional, and mental health- especially for moms who have infants or toddlers. You see, human beings are not born knowing how to put themselves to sleep. In fact, this was one of the biggest shocks to me as a new mom. Who knew that setting up the perfect nursery with a comfortable crib, would not be enough to ensure that my baby would fall asleep when

Hello Modish Mommies! It’s Kaya and I’m so glad to be back here following a brief hiatus. During that time period, I have been in transition and moved almost 7,000 miles back to the United States, after spending three years in Japan. I have started a new job, left friends that have been dear to me while in Japan, found a place to live, and purchased important items such as a vehicle and a new home. On top of my own personal transition, I have also transitioned my almost two-year-old
